FAQ

If you do not see your state listed on our list of valid shipping states, that is because either your state or NJ law prevents us from shipping within your state's borders.
Yes, we offer FREE delivery for orders over $150 within a 5 mile radius of Wine Nation, Matawan, NJ. We will accept special delivery request anywhere within the State of New Jersey for large orders for events, weddings, parties etc. You can send us an email or call us and we will work with you.

Orders placed by 2 PM Eastern time will normally be processed within 24hrs. Processing an order entails validation of the order, checking with the warehouse for the vintage and inventory confirmation and getting the order prepared for pickup by the common carrier. We want to ensure that we are able to fulfil the order accurately and at the same time take full care to handle the wines delicately to avoid bottle shock. This helps us ensure that the wine reachs you in the best possible condition. For in store pickup please allow 2 business days, provided all items are in stock. You will be notified by email that your order is ready for pick up or once it has been shipped.  

The 3 day lead time accounts for the process mentioned above of validation, warehouse pick and ship and handling at the local store for optmal shipment.

By LAW there must be an adult of at least 21 years receiving the order ADULT SIGNATURE is REQUIRED by LAW  as the shipment contains alcohol. If no one is available when delivery is attempted, UPS/FedEx will make two more attempts consecutive business days. At this point you can contact UPS/FedEx to make alternative shipping arrangements after the first attempt is made. Should delivery fail on all three attempts, the package will return to us, and we must recharge shipping in order for the package(s) to be re-sent.
We recommend that you ship to a business addresses. Its also advised if no Adult is at your home address to sign for the delivery. You must be sure to include the business/company name, as well as a suite of floor number in the ship-to information to ensure that the shipment is routed properly. 
However we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.
Due to the dynamic nature of the retail business there are unforseen circumstances when a wine may go out of stock, be back ordered or the requested vintage may no longer available. In a situation like this we will make every attempt to contact you and inform you of this and we may have to end up cancelling the order. 
The credit card is charged as a part of the ordering process. If the order is cancelled (see Why was my order cancelled
We will refund your card immediately in an event that the order is cancelled.
There are a couple of reason for this, which we are sure you will appreciate
  • It starts with the images, the bottle images/labels are for reference only and the vintage in the image may not be the vintage in stock
  • We try to leverage the description of the wines from the wineries which are the authoritative source of that information. However, sometimes that winery posts very generic information for their wines, based on the price point
  • We have experienced that the suppliers and wineries do not maintain Vintages for all wines. Meaning, we will receive the latest batch/vintage that is being shipped.  
  • Our inventory is constantly being turned over and hence it is difficult for us to maintain vintage accuracy when not supported by our vendors/wineries.
  • The vintage accuracy seems to be loosely related to the cost of the wine, hence we have to draw a line in the sand and use $25 as the threshold. However, we will make every attempt to ensure that you receive the vintage that you have requested.
